About me
My journey from the Alps to the Himalayas: geology, adventure and passion

If you would like to chat with me without obligation, or have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.
My name is Natalie Vögeli. I studied Earth Sciences at ETH Zurich and then did my PhD in Grenoble, France. For my doctoral thesis, I investigated the formation of the Himalayas and their influence on the monsoon climate. In the process, I also got to know the different parts of the Himalayas. However, my love for Nepal, its people and its landscape began before my doctorate, when I went trekking in Nepal myself in 2012. Since then, I have returned there many times and got to know the country, its people and its language better. I am delighted to be able to share my enthusiasm for geology and the uniqueness of the Himalayas with VoegeliTours and to bring you closer to the country and its culture.
I have also been travelling in the Alps since I was young and have been organising hikes with geological input for friends and acquaintances for several years. Since 2020, I have also been the director and co-president of Girls* on Ice Switzerland, where we organise scientific expeditions for teenage girls every year.
